The Vision
A community learning center in Cincinnati — built one pillar at a time.
The backyard is just the beginning. The long-term vision is to develop a ground where neighbors gather to grow food, care for animals, learn cottage-industry skills, and discover that small places hold extraordinary meaning.
A land trust that grows the way a garden grows — one bed at a time, one season at a time, shaped by the people who show up and put their hands in the soil.
How We Get There
Phase 1 — The Backyard (Now)
The existing flock, garden, and beehives. Eggs distributed weekly to 20+ families. Community bake days and workshops already happening. Every bag of Happy Chicks Feed sold sustains this space.
Phase 2 — Expand the Garden
Purchase a foundation plot from an abandoned or empty lot and build raised garden beds, plant a fruit orchard, maintain a composting center and pollinator habitat, and formalize a youth stewardship program with school partnerships for field trips.
Phase 3 — The Kitchen
Build a shared community kitchen space for baking classes, harvest days, cottage-industry training, canning and preserving food, and a youth culinary program using ingredients grown on-site.
Phase 4 — The Full Learning Center
All four pillars under one roof. Teaching farm, community garden, shared kitchen, and maker space. A permanent community institution in Cincinnati where neighbors come to grow, learn, create, and help each other thrive.
